THE HISTORY
Standing up, by sitting down.
On March 27th, 1961 nine college students from Tougaloo College
Jackson MS, took a stand, by sitting down. Under the tutelage of Medgar Evers, these 9 students conducted a Read-in at a whites only library in downtown Jackson.
Their brave and heroic act was soon forgotten but now it's time to hear their story in their own words.
